This generation , more then the preceding generations has little time for formalities. They have grown up with fast food, sound bites and fast paced video. We will look at those things that are done in the church and try to ascertain what things are necessary and what things are simply traditional, and trim the role of the church to those things that are necessary. We will then add those things that are not ungodly to create an environment that is attractive to this generation. The Bible, as always, remains the mearsuring rod for everything. The things we add will always be measured against this yardstick. We are not going to be there to simply entertain, but to accomplish the goals of the vision.

Music is a common thread and powerful influence in youth. Contemporary sound with good equipment and acoustics will be a focus of any building, either constructed or rented. Worship in contemporary styles will be the direction for services. To this end, we will need to be continually looking for new worship. Music loses it’s effectiveness if sung from rote and not from the heart.

Structure in any organization is important. This church will set the structure of the church to what present understanding of the Bible dictates. Elders will be ordained as they become qualified and though the vision bearer and ‘angelos of the local church, the pastor will be submitted to the input of the elders as was demonstrated at Abbott Loop. We will ordain five fold, as they become evident.

Shepherding will be the role of elders. Care and concern without control will be the philosophy.

We will begin to build a base of operation. A strong central church that will provide the discipling and teaching that’s needed to provide a good foundation and base. This will require that we build strong relational ties to one another. Fellowship, prayer and the breaking of bread together are needed. Trust relationships that are positive in output and conversation. Home fellowships will be built as the church grows in size.

Christianity is meant to progress. Though the local church is always relevant in a Christians life, it is not meant to be the focus of every Christians life. The purpose of the local church is to equip its people for their work of ministry in the world. To that end, the weekly services are meant to prepare those who come for something. It will be the intent of the Place to send out its members into valid and contemporary ministries within the community, the nation, and the world.
